The Demise of Print Advertising in the World of Re

It seems to me that the days of print advertising are almost over.  Print advertising is extremely expensive.  It is no surprise that the Internet has changed real estate and the newspaper business forever. How much do we spend on Journal advertising?  I would say that each ad that we put in Sundays Milwaukee Journal costs approximately $60.  When we hold open houses and ask the people how they found out about the open house, I would say that over 75% of the people who stop in our open houses are people that found out about the open house “on the Internet”. I think these are the serious buyers because they already have their afternoon planned with a list of open houses that they want to stop by. The other response that I find frequently is that the buyers come in because of the open house signs that are placed outside the property. These probably are not going to be the serious buyers, but ones that are just starting to look for homes and getting an idea of what is available.

My thinking is that print advertising will decrease more and more.  Only time will tell, but I will continue to talk with people to see how they found out about our open houses and evaluate if we are going to continue with Journal advertising.

The Dale Marciniak Team understands that not everyone uses the internet and the digital divide is still very apparent.  We will continue to use whatever means nessessary to sell your home.
